Kinetrex Energy and UPS jointly announced they have entered into a 6-year renewable natural gas (RNG) supply agreement. The agreement will supply UPS with up to 52.5 million gallons of RNG to be used in Class 8 vehicles throughout the Midwest from its Indianapolis RNG plant. The RNG will be used to fuel UPS’ LNG-powered fleets in Chicago, Toledo, Columbus, St. Louis and Indianapolis. The agreement also allows Kinetrex to supply UPS an additional 50 million gallons over the same period as Kinetrex develops additional RNG plants.

“This is an exciting day for our city as one of our local companies, Kinetrex Energy, partners with global shipper UPS to improve the air quality in central Indiana,” said Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett. “The renewable natural gas project on the south side will create several high-paying jobs. We are pleased to see a homegrown-Indianapolis company spearheading this effort.”
