Xebec Adsorption Inc. (TSXV: XBC) (OTC: XEBEF) (“Xebec”), a global provider of renewable natural gas (RNG) solutions, is pleased to note that the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), announced a new initiative on March 1st 2019, to use biogas to partially replace coal in rural areas.

China plans to produce 30 billion cubic meters of biogas from agricultural waste and manure by 2030, part of a wider measure to reduce the domestic coal consumption in rural regions by 50 megatonnes. In order to achieve this target, China will need to build approximately 3,000 to 4,000 upgrading facilities over the next 10 years, requiring investments of CDN$7 to 10 billion.
