Clean Energy Fuels has begun producing renewable natural gas (RNG) at East Valley Cattle, one of the largest dairies in the country and the company’s eighth dairy RNG production plant. The facility captures methane from cattle manure and converts it into pipeline-quality renewable natural gas used as a low-carbon transportation fuel, expanding Clean Energy’s growing portfolio of dairy-based RNG operations and supporting the displacement of fossil-derived fuels in heavy-duty vehicle fleets.
RNG Coalition Sues EPA Over Cuts to Cellulosic Renewable Volume Obligations
The Coalition for Renewable Natural Gas (RNG Coalition) has filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency over the agency’s decision to cut cellulosic renewable volume obligations under the Renewable Fuel Standard. The Coalition argues that the reductions undercut investment in renewable natural gas and run counter to the program’s goal of expanding low-carbon, domestically produced fuels, and is asking the court to review the EPA’s volume determinations.
OSU Partners with Love’s Alternative Energy to Power Transit Buses with Renewable Natural Gas
Oklahoma State University has announced a new 10-year partnership with Love’s Alternative Energy to operate, maintain, and supply renewable natural gas (RNG) to OSU’s compressed natural gas (CNG) bus fueling station. The station serves a fleet of 27 transit buses across the Stillwater campus and community, handling approximately 150,000 Diesel Gallon Equivalents of fuel per year. Under the agreement, Love’s will replace aging compressor equipment and supply RNG — a cleaner-burning fuel derived from organic waste — while OSU will earn tradeable Renewable Identification Numbers (RINs) under the EPA’s Renewable Fuel Standard program.
Anaergia Lands $42M RNG Processing Deal
Carlsbad-based Anaergia has secured a $42 million renewable natural gas (RNG) processing deal, positioning the company for growth as high energy prices drive demand for alternative fuel sources. Anaergia specializes in converting organic waste streams — including manure and other agricultural byproducts — into pipeline-quality RNG, offering a climate-friendly energy solution with significant market upside.
Stark Tech Partners with Sagepoint Energy to support 2 landfill RNG projects
Engineered skid specialist Stark Tech has announced a partnership with Sagepoint Energy to support two landfill renewable natural gas (RNG) projects. The landfill RNG projects will convert landfill gas into pipeline-quality renewable natural gas, contributing to decarbonization efforts and supporting the clean energy transition.
KBR Tech Selected for Northern Europe’s Largest SAF Plant in Latvia
Baltic SAF producer NorSAF has selected KBR Inc.'s proprietary PureSAF technology — originally developed by Swedish Biofuels AB — for a project in Latvia designed to produce 100,000 tonnes of SAF and e-SAF annually, which would make it the largest such facility in Northern Europe. The plant uniquely combines green hydrogen, bioethanol, and captured biogenic CO2 to produce drop-in jet fuel requiring no blending. Backed by aviation services group Avia Solutions, the project targets a final investment decision in early 2027 and full operations by 2030, with supply planned for airlines across the Baltics and broader European markets.
Japan’s Biggest Airlines Warn of Crisis Without More SAF
Japan’s two largest carriers, All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Japan Airlines (JAL), have jointly published their second SAF report — titled Toward Net Zero CO2 Emissions from Air Transport in 2050 — warning that the aviation industry faces a looming crisis if sustainable fuel production and cost reductions don’t accelerate significantly before 2030. SAF represented just 0.6% of global aviation fuel consumption as of 2025. The airlines are calling for a society-wide Co-creation Model in which SAF adoption costs are shared across government, industry, and travelers — framing the fuel supply challenge as a matter of Japan’s economic security.
EverGen’s Strong Q1: RNG Output and Finances Surge in Turnaround
Vancouver-based EverGen Infrastructure Corp. reported a significant operational and financial turnaround for Q1 2026, posting a 38% revenue increase to $2.63 million and a 23% jump in RNG production to 52,756 gigajoules. Adjusted EBITDA surged 93% to $870,000, while a new $13 million credit facility with Farm Credit Canada has shored up the balance sheet. Key milestones at its Fraser Valley Biogas and GrowTEC facilities — along with regulatory approval to construct an anaerobic digester at its Pacific Coast Renewables project — position the company for continued growth in Canada’s expanding RNG market.
South Carolina Creates Tax Credit to Support Landfill Gas-to-RNG Projects
Gov. Henry McMaster has signed SB 556 into law, establishing a new state income tax credit equal to 25% of equipment costs for producing renewable natural gas from landfill gas — capped at $5 million per taxpayer per year. The credit applies to tax years 2026 through 2029, can be carried forward up to 15 years, and is transferable to other eligible taxpayers. Regulated utilities receiving the credit are required to pass the benefit on to ratepayers.
Stark Tech Partners with Sagepoint Energy on 2 Landfill RNG Projects
Buffalo-based Stark Tech is teaming up with Carmel, Indiana-based Sagepoint Energy to develop two landfill renewable natural gas projects. Stark Tech will provide custom-engineered skid systems designed to enhance pipeline injection capacity and long-term operational scalability at both sites. The projects will convert landfill gas into pipeline-quality RNG, supporting decarbonization efforts and the transition toward cleaner energy across North America.
