OSU Partners with Love’s Alternative Energy to Power Transit Buses with Renewable Natural Gas
Oklahoma State University has announced a new 10-year partnership with Love’s Alternative Energy to operate, maintain, and supply renewable natural gas (RNG) to OSU’s compressed natural gas (CNG) bus fueling station. The station serves a fleet of 27 transit buses across the Stillwater campus and community, handling approximately 150,000 Diesel Gallon Equivalents of fuel per year. Under the agreement, Love’s will replace aging compressor equipment and supply RNG — a cleaner-burning fuel derived from organic waste — while OSU will earn tradeable Renewable Identification Numbers (RINs) under the EPA’s Renewable Fuel Standard program.
