Supervising Engineer I/II

Under the direction of a Division Engineer, the incumbent will plan, organize and coordinate the work of professional employees and support staff engaged in air quality engineering activities associated with Districts’ Solid Waste and Wastewater Facilities, focusing on regulatory compliance and enforcement. The incumbent will supervise or personally be responsible for the following activities: support field operations; regulatory permit applications (along with supporting work such as air dispersion modeling and health risk assessment preparation), regulatory correspondence, memoranda and technical reports; qualification criteria, scope of work, and contractual language for retaining engineering consultants and emissions testing firms; represent the Districts at public hearings and meetings with regulatory staff, elected officials and coalition members; make presentations; provide training for staff; act as a liaison and coordinate work between different sections or departments; interview applicants for engineering positions, recommend personnel related actions; evaluate work performance; participate in budget preparation; and perform related duties as required. This job requires periodic field visits.

This position is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the anaerobic digester and renewable natural gas separation including pretreatment and support equipment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Using the maintenance software package, keep records of all work performed, labor hours expended, and parts consumed on all maintenance activities.

  • Perform hands-on corrective and preventive and predictive maintenance as needed.

  • Perform laboratory testing as needed.

  • Perform housekeeping for clean, safe facility.

  • Assist facility supervision with monitoring of the biological and mechanical processes.

This is an engineering dream position. Maas Energy Works (MEW) is looking for someone who loves engineering, but also managing an amazing team. We have a young team full of potential. We are creating new products for renewable energy. We can teach you technology, but you must be willing to learn and ready to dive into the world of biogas. Senior Mechanical Engineer

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will work with the project team to create world class designs for new installations and modifications on a variety of natural gas, RNG (renewable natural gas), and hydrogen projects, on infrastructure such as transmission pipelines, compressor, M&R (meter and regulator) stations and other areas related to the industry. The Staff Mechanical Engineer will work with the project team throughout the engineering, design and construction phases of various projects, adapting mechanical aspects according to project scope and schedule, client material specifications, state and federal (PHSMA) regulations, and industry best practices. Experience with biogas processing and upgrading systems would support Burns & McDonnell’s RNG practice that focuses on providing exemplary service to various utility, municipal, energy, and industrial clients. Typical assignments include working with multi-disciplinary teams in conducting feasibility studies, due diligence assessments, development of preliminary engineering packages, detailed design, and construction of significant RNG assets for our clients. Experience in anaerobic digestion of agricultural and food waste feedstocks is sought after.
