Hexagon Agility Launches Pioneer Clean Fleet Solutions for Low-Carbon Truck Leasing
Hexagon Agility has partnered with Clean Energy Fuels Corp. and Cummins Inc. to launch Pioneer Clean Fleet Solutions, the first company dedicated to leasing low-carbon heavy-duty commercial vehicles in North America. This initiative aims to simplify the transition to natural gas by offering comprehensive leasing packages, thereby promoting the adoption of natural gas trucks as a sustainable alternative to diesel. Pioneer CFS will operate independently, leveraging Hexagon Agility’s expertise and network to provide fuel systems, mobile refueling, and aftermarket solutions, with early deployments expected soon.
UC Riverside Study Forecasts Most Heavy-Duty Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) Emissions Reductions Will Come from Improved Internal Combustion Engines, Regardless of EV Adoption
A May 2025 study published by a team of researchers from University of California, Riverside (UCR) shows outsized emissions reduction effects of replacing older heavy-duty diesel engines with new diesel or natural gas models, regardless of EV adoption. The study, “The impacts of improving heavy-duty internal combustion engine technology on reducing NOx emissions inventories going into the future,” is California-specific in terms of projected fleet composition and toxic nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions through 2050, but the implications are valid nationwide.
BerQ RNG Divests Two Landfill-RNG Development Projects in Kentucky and New York
BerQ RNG ("BerQ"), a leading developer of renewable natural gas (RNG) projects, announced it has completed the sale of two landfill-gas-to-RNG projects. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The first project located at the West Daviess County Landfill in Owensboro, Kentucky is near completion and will be fully operational before the end of the year. The second project located at the Oneida-Herkimer Regional Landfill in Boonville, New York is currently in development. Together, these projects will capture and refine landfill gas into pipeline-quality RNG, significantly reducing methane emissions and contributing to decarbonization in the transportation and energy sectors.
