Redtail Renewables, a leading renewable natural gas (RNG) developer and operator, and Pacolet Milliken, a private investment firm, today announced the formation of joint venture RPM Holdings (RPM), which launches with the acquisition of an RNG project located near Owensboro, Kentucky.
NWRA, RNG COALITION Among Groups Pushing Back on RFS Proposal
The RNG Coalition and National Waste & Recycling Association submitted joint comments to the U.S. EPA pushing back on the smaller incentive it proposed for fuels like renewable natural gas in its latest Renewable Fuel Standard proposal.
The proposal, which EPA released in June, would set targets for low-carbon fuels through 2027 with a much bolder goal for biodiesel and crop-based biofuels than cellulosic biofuels like RNG. The agency argued tepid transportation demand for RNG and lower-than-expected production of the fuel meant it needed to lower expectations for cellulosic biofuels.

Anaergia Inc., through its subsidiary, Anaergia S.r.l., has signed a new agreement with a subsidiary of Bioenerys. Under the terms of this agreement, Anaergia will significantly enlarge and enhance Bioenerys’ anaerobic digestion facility in Ariano nel Polesine, which is in northern Italy.
Hexagon Agility Receives New Wave of Orders for Natural Gas Fuel Systems for North American Heavy-Duty Trucks
Hexagon Agility, a subsidiary of Hexagon Composites ASA (OSE: HEX.OL) and the world's leading provider of natural gas (CNG/RNG) fuel systems, has received a new wave of orders totaling USD 4.2 million (approx. NOK 42 million). These orders are for fuel systems installations in trucks powered by Cummins' X15N natural gas engine, designed specifically for the North American heavy-duty truck market.
Emvolon and Montauk Renewables Launch JV to Convert Biogas into Low Carbon Fuel
Emvolon and Montauk Renewables, Inc. announced a joint venture to develop multiple biogas-to-green methanol projects. Following a successful field demonstration project, the companies plan to deploy a portfolio of biogas-based sites with an aggregate annual production capacity of up to 50,000 metric tons of green methanol by 2030 and beginning with the Atascocita Humble Renewable Energy facility in Humble, Texas.
Greenlane Renewables Announces New RNG Service Agreements
Greenlane Renewables Inc. has secured five new service agreements for renewable natural gas (RNG) project sites for which it previously provided biogas upgrading systems. The new agreements span the spectrum of Greenlane’s tiered maintenance package offerings, from essential service support to comprehensive parts and service. They also include a combination of recurring and new customers, reflecting strong demand for Greenlane’s offerings in support of ongoing RNG project optimization. Among the five agreements, three were awarded by a major international energy company across multiple RNG facilities, representing continued trust in Greenlane’s technology and its parts and service expertise. The feedstock sources for these five project sites include dairy cow manure, food waste, and municipal wastewater treatment plant sludge mixed with source-separated organics. The biogas upgrading systems are across diverse core upgrading technologies.
Seaspan Energy & Anew Climate Partner to Deliver Lower Carbon Marine Fuel
Seaspan Energy (Seaspan) and Anew Climate (Anew) have entered into a strategic agreement to offer delivery of renewable liquefied natural gas (R-LNG) to customers on the North American West Coast.
As part of the service offering, Anew will supply renewable natural gas (RNG) certified by the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) and provide pre-audit services to Seaspan required for ISCC certification. The RNG will comply with global standard frameworks like the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) Net-Zero Framework and the FuelEU Maritime Regulation in the European Union.

Indonesian natural gas transportation and distribution company PT Pertamina Gas Negara (PGN) is gearing up to supply biomethane to power data centres planned by NeutraDC Singapore, the Singapore unit of PT Telkom Data Ecosystem.
Lativa Gets First Publicly Available Biomethane Entry Point
In Latvia, Latvia Public Media reports the first publicly available biomethane entry point in Latvia is opened in Džūkste. The Association of Biogas Producers estimates that “green gas” in Latvia is currently produced by eight companies, which mostly have their own gas input points, but the industry is developing and public infrastructure will be relevant in the long term. The operator of the natural gas transmission and storage system “Conexus” points out that the project will promote the integration of green energy into the overall gas system and in the coming years it is planned to create such points elsewhere in Latvia.
EPA's SRE Decision: Bullish for RINs, Limited Returns
US biofuel and feedstock markets were volatile ahead of the Trump administration’s decision on small refinery exemptions (SREs), which allow refiners processing under 75,000 b/d to avoid tens of millions in compliance costs by demonstrating economic hardship related to compliance with the US Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). Earlier this week, the US EPA announced it has developed a new approach for reviewing small refinery exemptions (SREs) under the RFS. The announcement, filed 19 August. with the US Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, came as part of a lawsuit over EPA’s past denial of Sinclair Wyoming Refining’s request for a 2018 exemption.
