California Might Create Its Own Incentive System to Replace the Dying Federal EV Tax Credit
Federal support for electric vehicles is court-forced at best these days. President Donald Trump and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy have both made clear that the new administration is not a fan of the majority-electric-vehicle-future set forward by former president Joe Biden and states like California. This hostility has manifested in the removal of the $7500 EV tax credit subsidy as of next month, and a strangling of California's autonomous emissions policies.
Nearly $8 Million Is Now Available To Support Innovation in Low-Carbon Fuels In New York
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) today announced nearly $8 million is now available to support innovation in the development of low-carbon fuels in New York State. The competitive Waste to Low-Carbon Fuels Pilot and Demonstration solicitation supports innovation projects that pilot and scale converting waste feedstock from organic and inorganic discarded materials to energy in hard-to-electrify sectors of the economy. This funding helps make it more affordable to advance alternative fuel technologies that have the potential to lower emissions from transportation and industrial sectors and enhance electric grid reliability as part of the State’s clean energy transition.

Aemetis Targets 550,000 MMBtu RNG Production Capacity in 2025 as Regulatory Credits Drive Growth
Eric A. McAfee, Chairman and CEO, reported that "in our dairy RNG business, we are steadily scaling up gas production with a new multi-dairy digester coming online this month that is expected to increase RNG production by 30%." He outlined expectations to reach 550,000 MMBtus of renewable natural gas production capacity this year and grow to a 1 million MMBtu annual run rate by the end of 2026. McAfee highlighted the approval of 7 dairy pathways by CARB, noting this unlocks about 120% more LCFS credit revenue for those dairies starting this quarter. He also referenced the expansion into ethanol production in India and the appointment of a new CFO at the India subsidiary as steps toward an IPO targeted for early 2026.
Anaerobic Digestion Seen as Possible Emissions Solution
Research finds agriculture waste could be transformed into biogas and fertilizer using bacteria-based technology.
