FortisBC Behind the First Interprovincial Purchase of RNG in Canada
The BC Utilities Commission approved FortisBC’s request to purchase Renewable Natural Gas from outside of British Columbia (BC), making it the first interprovincial purchase of Renewable Natural Gas in Canada by a natural gas utility. Advancing Renewable Natural Gas is an essential component of FortisBC’s 30BY30 target, which includes having 15 percent of our natural gas be from renewable sources by 2030.
Renewable Natural Gas blends seamlessly with conventional natural gas in existing FortisBC infrastructure. It is injected into our natural gas distribution system, displacing conventional natural gas. As we continue to evaluate such renewable and carbon-neutral energies as Renewable Natural Gas and hydrogen, our infrastructure is key to delivering this energy throughout the province.

Republic Services, Aria Energy and BP Partner on New Renewable Energy Project
Republic Services (NYSE: RSG) and energy partners Aria Energy and bp (NYSE: BP) today announced the startup of a landfill-gas-to-renewable-natural-gas (RNG) project at South Shelby Landfill. The project directly supports Republic's commitment to send 50 percent more landfill gas to beneficial reuse by 2030.
South Shelby Landfill is one of 189 active, modern-day landfills managed by Republic Services, the second-largest recycling and waste services provider in the country. Aria operates the project, processing and purifying biogas from the landfill into RNG. bp will transport the RNG into the interstate natural gas pipeline grid and market it to renewable energy customers. This is Aria and bp's fourth RNG project at a Republic Services landfill.

EPA Publishes RNG Report
The U.S. EPA’s Landfill Methane Outreach Program in July published a report on renewable natural gas (RNG) that aims to provide biogas stakeholders and other interested parties with a resource to promote and potentially assist in the development of RNG projects.
The 55-page report addresses RNG feedstocks and sources, options for delivering and using the fuel, the benefits of RNG projects, an estimate of current operational and potential RNG projects, and the processes and technologies used to upgrade biogas to RNG. The report also addresses policies and incentives to boost RNG development and use as well as barriers to RNG project development.

France Invests in Biomethane Stations to Promote Greener Transport
In two to three years, Brittany should see green fuel stations flourish. “Our objective,” says Marc Le Mercier, the manager of Liger Bioconcept, creating this brand, is to produce 24 stations in the region. At the national level, they should reach 150 in the medium-term.
These stations are open to companies for the supply of fuel to trucks and coaches, but also to individual vehicles. They will offer bioGNV from methanisers located nearby. So far, Liger Bioconcept has already opened the first station in Locminé, where its head office is located. Two others are planned in Ploermël at the end of the year and then in Pontivy
(Morbihan).

Agility Secures Over $8M USD to Expand Anheuser-Busch CNG Fleet
Agility® Fuel Solutions (Agility), a business of Hexagon Composites and a leading global provider of clean fuel solutions for medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles, received a substantial order from longtime customer Anheuser-Busch. Over 180 new trucks equipped with Agility’s ProCab® 175 CNG Fuel Systems will be joining the fleet. The estimated total value of the order is over USD 8.0 million (approx. NOK 72 million).

Green Era Renewable Energy & BP to Build Urban Farm
A large-scale urban farming campus that promises to bring jobs, fresh food and renewable energy to Chicago’s South Side is getting a financial boost from the state.
Green Era Renewable Energy and Urban Farming Campus will receive $2 million from the state through Rebuild Illinois — a program giving grants for infrastructure development in distressed areas.
That money, along with a $1 million loan from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, allowed Green Era to secure the final bit of funding needed to develop the $32 million project on the 9-acre land that is a brownfield site.
