Cenergy Solutions stores, transports and utilizes raw biogas in their ANG trailer
Cenergy Solutions, a US-based company, in conjunction with North State Rendering Plant has captured biogas that is being made from food waste. This gas is now being moved in Cenergy’s ANG trailer to be utilized in a boiler that is preparing used cooking oil for biodiesel production. Chris Ottone plant co-owner of the biogas plant, said this could save them $3,000 to $4,00 per month which is now being spent on pipeline gas from PG&E.

US Gain Completes RNG Project at Clover Hill Dairy
U.S. Gain recently completed a gas processing facility at Clover Hill Dairy in Campbellsport, Wisconsin. The result is good news for the renewable natural gas industry, the environment and the farm.
Anaerobic digesters break down organic matter and, as the bacteria used in the process “work,” they generate biogas. The non-methane components of the biogas are removed so the methane can be used as a fuel or energy source. The upgrade at Clover Hill Dairy was necessary to begin production of renewable natural gas (RNG), a cleaner and more desirable alternative fuel that reduces transportation emissions and ultimately, the end-users’ carbon footprint.

Why Some Landfills are Exploring Mobile Pipeline to Capitalize on Renewable Natural Gas
Bulk transportation of renewable natural gas (RNG) by truck, or a virtual pipeline, is a growing industry in the U.S. While some landfill owners are setting up virtual pipelines to fuel their fleets, a few are tapping into these systems to get gas into utility pipelines. It’s an expensive endeavor but may be worth it, especially for remote landfills wanting to capitalize on renewable credits. Some utilities find it’s opening opportunities for them, too.
Hexagon Lincoln in Nebraska manufactures mobile pipeline gas transportation modules, delivering about 500 of them throughout North America.

Orbital Gas Systems Awarded First-Ever Biomethane Grid Entry Unit Supplied to the UK Water Industry
CUI Global, Inc. (NASDAQ: CUI) ("CUI Global" or the "Company") today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Orbital Gas Systems Ltd. ("Orbital"), the leader in innovative gas measurement solutions, has been awarded a contract by a major UK energy provider to design, produce and commission its first-ever biomethane-to-grid plants for the UK water industry.
The contract calls for the provision of an initial biomethane Grid Entry Unit ("GEU") followed by a second unit, both to be delivered in 2020. Each unit is valued at approximately $550,000.

Dane County Landfill Receives first Biogas Load to Upgrade into RNG
The renewable natural gas (RNG) offloading station at Dane County’s landfill is scheduled to receive its first load of biogas this week. The biogas will be brought from a Wisconsin digester that collects the methane from manure which reduces greenhouse gas emissions and harmful runoff to lakes and streams. The digester’s biogas will be injected through the County’s equipment into the interstate transmission pipeline so it can be used as renewable fuel, powering fleets of RNG vehicles locally and across the United States.
“We are thrilled to reach this milestone at the Dane County landfill,” said County Executive Joe Parisi. “It took a lot of hard work and dedication from our staff and industry partners to see this through to the end. It is exciting to see this effort shape the industry. We look forward to the positive impact it will have on our clean lakes efforts, as well as the local economy.”

Utility FortisBC to Launch Third Landfill Renewable Gas Project
Utility FortisBC in British Columbia will soon launch its third and largest landfill renewable natural gas (RNG) project to make RNG from decomposing waste. In partnership with the city of Vancouver, it will increase RNG the utility currently produces at the other two facilities by two-thirds, equating to another 250,000 gigajoules of gas that it will sell to customers annually.
“There is an emphasis and awareness on climate change, and in response to customers’ desires to reduce emissions, we see our existing systems as a way to link customers to sources of RNG,” says Scott Gramm, manager of renewable natural gas supply for FortisBC.

Americas Energy CEO Series: Ameresco's Sakellaris Optimistic about Energy Efficiency
Technological advances since the 1970's have been a major driver of energy efficiency growth in the US, with many operations now able to save 20%-30% of their energy use through such measures, according to George Sakellaris, president and CEO of Ameresco.
Ameresco is a publically traded independent provider of energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions for facilities throughout North America and the UK.
Sakellaris founded the company in 2000, coming to the US in 1965 to study engineering at the University of Maine, working afterwards for NE Electric as a start-up engineer at coal-fired power plants, he said in a recent interview with S&P Global Platts. He then did long-range planning strategy on transmission and generation.

Production Begins at Indianapolis RNG Plant
Officials in Indianapolis have cut the ribbon on what is being called the largest renewable natural gas facility in Indiana. The Indy High BTU Plant on the city's south side is the result of a partnership involving Indianapolis-based Kinetrex Energy, EDL Energy in Australia and South Side Landfill in Indy. The facility, which became fully operational in late March, has the capacity to convert methane gas from South Side Landfill into approximately 8 million gallons of pipeline-quality renewable natural gas (RNG) annually.
Kinetrex then uses the RNG to fuel vehicle fleets throughout the Midwest. Casey Holsapple, general counsel and vice president for Kinetrex, says the facility will have a major impact.

RNG Coalition Continues Advocacy Efforts During COVID-19 Pandemic
The Coalition for Renewable Natural Gas is continuing its work to advocate for RNG development and its industry members despite the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Director of Operations David Cox.
Cox said the biggest COVID-19 issue impacting RNG producers so far is lower fuel demand. “That has the potential to be the biggest long-term impact from an operations standpoint,” he said. “You have to find a market for the fuel.” The size of the impact varies company-to-company, depending on where they sell their gas, he added.
