Waga Energy Selected for a Biomethane Unit in Illinois
Waga Energy said it has been selected to build and operate a biomethane production unit at the Eco-Hill landfill site in Atkinson, Illinois, run by a company affiliated with Lakeshore Recycling Systems. The facility will turn gas emitted by waste into renewable energy to supply homes and businesses.
The unit will be equipped with Wagabox technology, developed and patented by Waga Energy, to recover landfill gas in the form of biomethane, injected directly into gas networks. Able to process 4,800 m³/h of raw gas, it will be able to produce about 180 GWh of biomethane per year.
