EnviTec Commits €100 Million to Biomethane Expansion in Germany

Germany-based EnviTec Biogas has unveiled plans to invest roughly €100 million ($117 million) in biomethane production by 2029, expanding gas upgrading capacity as it shifts its biogas portfolio away from power generation and toward renewable gas.

The funding will support the conversion and expansion of existing biogas plants operating under Germany’s Renewable Energy Act, alongside new biomethane facilities built between 2026 and 2029, as the country’s revised auction-based support scheme increasingly favors renewable gas over traditional biogas-to-power generation.
