CIP Launches €1.5 Billion Advanced Bioenergy Fund to Scale European Biomethane

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners has unveiled its second Advanced Bioenergy Fund (ABF II) with a target size of €1.5 billion — roughly double its predecessor. The fund will invest primarily in industrial-scale biogas and biomethane plants across Europe, and has already secured a €200 million anchor commitment from the European Investment Fund. The vehicle is positioned to be one of the largest dedicated pools of capital backing RNG infrastructure as the EU accelerates its energy transition agenda.
