Anaerobic Digestion Shortcourse Conference at Cornell University

Anaerobic Digestion Shortcourse: Operating Manure Based Anaerobic Digestion Systems to Maximize Environmental and Economic Benefits

Industry leading professionals, including RNG Coalition CEO, Johannes Escudero, will provide the latest information on practical digester management and decision making backed up with science and engineering to maximize economic and environmental benefits including.

This one-half day, full day, one-half day conference provides participants the latest information on practical digester management and decision making backed up with science and engineering to maximize economic and environmental benefits including a greenhouse gas mitigation and monetization.  After an opening White Board Session, general session topics include:

  • Anaerobic Digestions Constraints and Opportunities

  • Biogas Production and Monitoring

  • Co-digestion

  • Biogas Clean-up

  • Biogas Utilization – Traditional Methods and RNG/Vehicle Fuel Replacement

  • Anaerobic Digestion and Greenhouse Gas Reduction/Value

  • Anaerobic Digester System and Operator Safety

Industry and land-grant affiliated anaerobic digester specialists will lead over 25 discussions.  Featured speaker, Mr. Mark Stoermann, Newtrient CCO and former Project Manager at Fair Oaks Dairy, will provide an overview and challenges faced with a farm biogas generation, clean-up, and compression/storage system that is used to fuel an over the road truck fleet that he was responsible for developing from conception to completion during a special evening session.  Additionally, Mr. Johannes Escudero, CEO & Executive Director of the Coalition for Renewable Natural Gas will talk about the alternative of use of cleaned biogas as a natural gas replacement - an area that is receiving a lot of attention today due to the California dairy GHG emission reduction law passed last year.

Attendees will gain increased knowledge so that anaerobic digester systems can achieve environmental impact goals and objectives while operating under business models that require effective cost control.  Attendees will also develop new relationships with counter-parts in the industry through scheduling networking breaks, NYSERDA-sponsored developer/vendor trade show, and open evening time.
