Advanced Development & Optimization Workshop, Hosted by DOE's BETO

  • National Renewable Energy Laboratory 15013 Denver West Blvd Golden, CO 80401 United States (map)

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) will host the Advanced Development and Optimization Workshop in Golden, Colorado. BETO’s focus has recently shifted toward earlier development-cycle opportunities, and the BETO Demonstration and Market Transformation program has changed its name to Advanced Development and Optimization (ADO) to focus on the mid-range Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) 4 through 6. In this workshop, BETO will seek stakeholder input to identify high-priority actions to optimize ADO’s impact on the evolving bioeconomy.

Specific topics to be addressed include:

  • How the ADO program can best serve our stakeholders in developing the bioenergy industry
  • Challenges and barriers at low TRLs that need further development at mid-TRLs
  • Possibilities for leveraging existing investments and assets to help industry progress
  • Next steps in industry efforts that are driving new needs for ADO’s and BETO’s roles in supporting bioenergy development.

Participant input will help focus ADO on the activities that will most readily translate to advancing research and development and that industry can later take to commercialization.

Registration for the workshop is now live, so reserve your spot today!
