Divert, Inc., a circular economy company on a mission to prevent food from being wasted, today announced that its partnership with United States Cold Storage (US Cold), the premier provider of refrigerated warehousing and logistics, processed more than 2.5 million pounds of unsold food and beverage products from seven California facilities in its first 15 months. The material was transformed into renewable energy and fertilizer instead of going to landfill.

German cruise operator TUI Cruises is expanding liquefied biomethane (LBM) use across its dual-fuel fleet, with two vessels now operating entirely or substantially on the renewable fuel across European itineraries.
Ireland Connects First Biomethane Plant to Gas Network
Bia Energy’s €90m renewable biomethane gas facility in Huntstown, Co. Dublin has become the first plant in Ireland to connect to the national gas network.
The plant is using short-dated and surplus packaged food from the retail and hospitality sectors, as well materials from agriculture and food production and converting these organic items into renewable biomethane.
