Manatee County Selects Nopetro and Johnson Controls to Deliver Innovative Renewable Natural Gas Project
Nopetro Energy, a vertically-integrated producer, distributor and operator of natural gas solutions across North America, in partnership with Johnson Controls, announced today a $50 million investment to design, finance, build and operate a landfill gas to renewable natural gas (RNG) production facility in Manatee County. The first facility of its kind on Florida’s west coast, construction is expected to begin in 2026 with operations commencing in 2027.

Denver to Launch Renewable Natural Gas Facility
The Denver Department of Public Health & Environment has partnered with Houston-based WM to develop a renewable natural gas (RNG) facility at the Denver Arapahoe Disposal Site (DADS) Landfill.
While other RNG facilities in the state process wastewater or agricultural waste, the Denver Department of Public Health & Environment says this facility will be the first landfill gas-to-RNG plant in Colorado, joining a growing network of more than 536 RNG plants across North America.
Nopetro Energy Adds Russ Boullion to Leadership Team to Accelerate RNG Growth
Nopetro Energy, a vertically-integrated producer, distributor and operator of natural gas solutions across North America, announced today the addition of Russ Boullion as vice president of commercial development in the Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Solutions division. In this role, he will help expand Nopetro’s footprint in the heavy-duty trucking sector and build new partnerships with both public- and private-sector fleet operators.
Boullion will work closely with Nopetro’s executive vice president of RNG Solutions, Scott Brinner, to expand the company’s commercial reach, supporting its growing network of RNG fueling stations and production plants. He will also help grow Nopetro’s N360 offering, which provides customers with a truck, through a direct lease, lifetime service and maintenance, and fuel—often at a fixed price per gallon—all in one package.
Novilla RNG Begins Operations of its Buckhorn RNG Facility
Novilla Investment Holdings LLC, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Buckhorn RNG LLC, announced on Nov. 9 that it has begun operations at its renewable natural gas (RNG) facility at Lynn Brothers Dairy in Unity, Wisconsin. The project represents Novilla RNG’s fourth project to reach operations, the second in Wisconsin, and a continuation of its business plan to develop a reasonable number of dairy projects every year.
