Located in Tupaciguara, in the Triangulo Mineiro region, the Zeg Biogas facility — a partnership between Zeg and Bioenergetica Aroeira — pioneers the production of biomethane from vinasse, a by-product of sugarcane processing.

Green-e® Renewable Fuels Standard Expanded to Include New Requirements for Biomethane from Animal Waste

Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) is pleased to announce an important update to the Green-e® Renewable Fuels Standard. After more than five years of stakeholder engagement and extensive scientific review with input from environmental nonprofits and industry experts, CRS, with approval from the Green-e® Governance Board, has finalized a set of strict requirements that allows for exemplary concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs) as a permissible type of biomethane production facility under the Green-e® Renewable Fuels Standard.

Generate Capital Secures C$60m for Anaerobic Digestion Portfolio

Generate Capital, PBC (Generate), a leading sustainable infrastructure investment firm, has announced the closing of a C$60 million (£34 million / €41 million) inaugural financing deal with Fiera Infrastructure Private Debt.



The funding will support Generate Upcycle’s (Upcycle) growing North American anaerobic digestion (AD) portfolio, further boosting renewable natural gas (RNG) capacity across Canada and the United States.

Pending US Biofuel Blending Exemption Petitions Rise to 30

Refiners have filed seven new small refinery exemption petitions with US regulators to exempt them from biofuel blending mandates, bringing the total number of pending petitions to 30, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency website.

Waste Management Reports Steady Volumes, RNG Plant Progress and Ongoing Cell Construction

Willow Wilson, district manager for Waste Management, gave the county a quarterly update on landfill volumes, revenue and on‑site construction projects.


Wilson reported year‑to‑date landfill volumes into the facility of about 1,900,000 total tons and third‑quarter volumes of roughly 701,184 tons. She told the court year‑to‑date host fees paid to Gilliam County for 2025 total about $3,800,000 and road fees year‑to‑date are $194,459.
