Republic Services Partners with EDL to Provide RNG for San Antonio Buses

EDL, an Australia-based producer of sustainable distributed energy, has announced Republic Services, Phoenix, and other key project stakeholders celebrated the third year of a partnership to provide sustainable solutions for San Antonio public buses at EDL’s Tessman Road renewable natural gas (RNG) facility.

Since commencing operations in 2022, EDL and Republic Services have worked with San Antonio-based partners including CPS Energy and Via Metropolitan Transit to support the city’s transition to a low-carbon future. The facility transforms methane-rich landfill gas into RNG that helps power Via’s fleet of compressed natural gas (CNG) buses, EDL says.

Anew Climate and CNX Extend Exclusive Agreement to Advance Remediated Mine Gas as a Climate Solution

Anew Climate, LLC ("Anew"), a global provider of climate solutions, today announced the extension of its exclusive agreement with CNX Resources Corporation ("CNX") to market Remediated Mine Gas (RMG), a powerful ultra-low carbon intensity energy source derived from captured waste methane.

RMG is produced by capturing and upgrading waste gases from active and abandoned mines ("mine gas"). While federal regulations require mine gas (mainly methane, a greenhouse gas over 25 times more potent than CO2) to be released from mines for safety reasons, there are no regulations in place to mitigate its impact. This results in the release of untreated methane and other gases directly into the atmosphere, causing long-term environmental and emission impacts, as mine gas must be vented for decades after mining stops.
