Goldman Sachs Asset Management said on Monday it had launched a biomethane business called Verdalia Bioenergy and aimed to invest more than 1 billion euros ($1.08 billion) in Europe over the next four years.
Biomethane, a lower carbon alternative to fossil-based natural gas, is produced from the decomposition of organic waste and is seen as a key plank in efforts to lower carbon emissions in the European Union.

Air Liquide and TotalEnergies have announced a partnership to develop a network of 100 hydrogen stations across Europe.

DSV Places Initial Order for 10 Electrified Trucks as Part of North American Emissions-Reduction Initiative
Exclusive early access to innovative technologies selected for Hyliion’s early adopters’ program, the leading transport and logistics company DSV has had the opportunity to place an initial order for 10 electrified trucks for its North American long-haul lanes. With its global presence, DSV optimizes customers’ supply chains across 80 countries, offering everything from contract logistics to air, sea and road freight. The 10 Hyliion Hypertruck ERX units will add to DSV’s North American existing fleet of 50 trucks and make up more than 15% of the asset-light company’s owned fleet carrying customers’ goods across the continent. Continuously seeking to optimize and adjust its services to the needs of its customers, DSV will use the electrified trucks to offer lower-emission transport on its Pan-American routes. Minnesota Green Hydrogen Facility Registers Certificates on Renewable Thermal Tracking Platform
CenterPoint Energy, Minnesota’s largest natural gas utility, has registered a green hydrogen facility on the M-RETS renewable thermal tracking system to track renewable thermal certificates.
CenterPoint Energy’s facility, which began operations in 2022, is the first-ever green hydrogen facility to register with a tracking system in North America and the company is receiving the nation’s first RTCs issued for green hydrogen, M-RETS said.
Roanoke Gas Gets State Nod for Renewable Natural Gas Project
State regulators have approved a plan by Roanoke Gas Co. to convert biogas from a sewage treatment plant into natural gas for distribution to customers in the region.
In an order issued Monday, the State Corporation Commission found that the joint project with the Western Virginia Water Authority is in the public interest.
Hexagon Agility Receives Orders from RenewGas Transportation for Mobile Pipeline® TITAN Modules to Deliver Renewable Natural Gas
Hexagon Agility, a business of Hexagon Composites, has received new orders for TITAN products from RenewGas Transportation, a leading provider of complete turnkey transportation solutions for renewable natural gas (RNG), to deliver Mobile Pipeline modules to transport and deliver RNG derived from agricultural waste.
This order represents an estimated value of USD 4.5 million (approx. NOK 44 million).
