Kinder Aiming to Expand Natural Gas Transportation Business for Booming LNG Sector
Kinder Morgan Inc. is prepared to invest more in the near term as it aims to grow its market share of natural gas deliveries to U.S. LNG export facilities.
To that end, Kinder said it closed its $355 million acquisition of three landfill assets from Mas CanAm LLC. These include a renewable natural gas (RNG) facility in Arlington, TX, and medium-Btu facilities in Shreveport, LA, and Victoria, TX. The Arlington facility is expected to produce 1.4 Bcf of RNG in 2023 and has the potential to “grow significantly” over the next decade.
Turning Trash to Treasure in Garland, Texas
We know recycling pays off in more ways than one, but did you know your trash does too? The City of Garland, Texas, has partnered with a company, Morrow Renewables, that turns your waste into energy.

Clean Energy Applauds Bipartisan Senate Bill Supporting Renewable Natural Gas Tax Credit to Help Fight Climate Change
Senators Richard Burr (R) from North Carolina and Mark Warner (D) from Virginia introduced the Renewable Natural Gas Incentive Act of 2022 in the United States Senate, which provides a $1 per gallon tax credit for renewable natural gas used as a transportation fuel. Andrew J. Littlefair, CEO and president of Clean Energy Fuels Corp. issued a statement in support of the bill:
“Renewable natural gas is gaining momentum as a transportation fuel because it tackles the issue of climate change immediately and cost effectively. Large fleets like UPS, Amazon, Waste Management and the transit agencies in New York City and LA are operating tens of thousands of vehicles every day with it. But more should be done to encourage the use of this incredibly clean fuel and this legislation introduced by Senators Warner and Burr does that.”
Low-Emission Natural Gas Trucks for CEMEX USA
CEMEX USA have added nearly 40 low-emission, natural gas-powered trucks to replace diesel powered vehicles in their southern California fleet as part of efforts to achieve carbon neutrality throughout their value chain by 2050.
The new, state-of-the-art trucks, which started to be delivered in April, are all powered by low-emission compressed natural gas (CNG) or renewable natural gas (RNG). CEMEX are integrating the 30 truckmixers and eight tractor Peterbuilt CNG/RNG trucks into operations while removing the same number of older, diesel-powered vehicles from their fleet.
