Expanded London Biogas Company Now Canada’s Largest Food-Waste Diversion Plant
A London company that turns organic waste into fuel has expanded at its plant, making it the largest food-waste diversion plant in Canada.
StormFisher has built a third facility at its south London site, along Green Valley Road near the Hwy. 401, to make more fuel out of waste from across the region. The new facility, built in partnership with Generate, a sustainable infrastructure company, will increase the company’s food intake capacity by 30 per cent.
First WAGABOX(R) Landfill Gas to RNG Project in the US Confirmed
Waga Energy is joining forces with Steuben County, New York, on an RNG project at the county's Bath landfill. The RNG produced will be injected in the local grid and used as a biofuel to decarbonize mobility. The Steuben County landfill will be the first in the US to adopt Waga Energy's WAGABOX(R) technology, already in use at ten landfills with an additional eleven facilities forthcoming in Europe and North America.
Archaea Energy Announces Successful Startup of Project Assai RNG Facility
Archaea Energy announced the successful start-up of Project Assai, an RNG facility located at the Keystone Sanitary Landfill in Dunmore, Pennsylvania. Assai is now the highest capacity operational RNG facility in the world.
Greenlane Renewables Signs $12.1 Million Contract with FortisBC to Supply Biogas Upgrading System to Vancouver Landfill
Greenlane Renewables Inc. announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Greenlane Biogas North America Ltd., has been awarded a $12.1 million contract by FortisBC Energy Inc. for the supply of a biogas upgrading system for a new project at the Vancouver landfill in British Columbia, Canada. Order fulfillment is expected to commence immediately.
Constellation to Supply Renewable Natural Gas to ANG’s CNG Stations
Constellation announced a 10-year agreement in which it will provide renewable natural gas to American Natural Gas, LLC to supply its CNG stations nationwide. The deal is made possible through a separate long-term offtake agreement between Constellation and project developer, The Landfill Group, in partnership with LS Power. Through this transaction, Constellation will procure biomethane from The Landfill Group’s Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency landfill biogas production facility in Iowa.
SJI And REV LNG Break Ground On Four RNG Facilities In Michigan
Last week, South Jersey Industries and development partner, REV LNG broke ground on renewable natural gas (RNG) facilities at four Michigan-based dairy farms, marking the partners' first series of renewable energy projects to break ground outside of the Northeast region.
The projects will include constructing 2M gallon anaerobic digesters and related RNG facilities to capture methane produced by cow manure at each of the four farms. The projects will also entail implementing equipment that cleans the digester-produced biogas, transforming it into commercial-grade pipeline-quality RNG.
Clean Energy Widens Path for Carbon Reduction in Transportation; Signs Deals for More RNG, New Stations
Clean Energy Fuels Corp. announced additional fuel and infrastructure contracts to meet the growing demand for renewable natural gas.
In the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, Clean Energy’s Adopt-a-Port program with Chevron continues to gain momentum, with more fleets switching to RNG. Chevron has committed to provide a total of $28 million of financing to trucking companies serving the ports region as well as owner-operators to purchase new RNG heavy-duty trucks. So far, over 200 heavy-duty trucks have been contracted through the program and over 400 more are being processed, which will help to clean the air in and around the ports and significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

SoCalGas & Bloom Energy Showcase Technology to Power Hydrogen Economy with Gas Blending Project
Southern California Gas Co. and Bloom Energy announced a project to showcase the future of the hydrogen economy and the technologies needed to help California reach carbon neutrality. The companies will collaborate to generate and then blend hydrogen into a university customer’s existing natural gas network to demonstrate how the natural gas infrastructure can be decarbonized, while balancing future energy supply and demand. The project is set to launch next year on the campus of the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena.
OPAL Fuels Announces JV with GFL Environmental Inc. to Develop New RNG Facilities
OPAL Fuels LLC, announced a 50/50 joint venture with GFL Renewables LLC, an affiliate of GFL Environmental Inc., to develop new RNG production facilities in the United States.
The JV agreement will include the development, construction, and operation of two new RNG production facilities, which will capture methane emissions from landfill facilities owned and operated by GFL. These methane emissions will then be converted into clean, renewable energy for use as a transportation fuel for heavy-duty trucking fleets.
