Tallgrass Energy Enters Agreement with Project Canary to Create the Nation’s First Certified Interstate Natural Gas Transmission System
A multi-year partnership announced today between Tallgrass Energy and Project Canary would make Tallgrass’ Rockies Express Pipeline (REX) the first interstate natural gas transmission pipeline in the United States to receive a comprehensive and independent environmental assessment and certification from Project Canary. The certification standards will be focused on environmental stewardship, operational excellence and real-time emissions detection and monitoring.
Enbridge Inks Low Carbon Deals With Shell, Vanguard Renewables
Enbridge Inc said on Tuesday it had signed low carbon infrastructure partnerships with Royal Dutch Shell and Vanguard Renewables, as the Canadian pipeline operator pushes ahead with its emission reduction goals.
The company will purchase two billion cubic feet (bcf) of renewable natural gas (RNG) annually from Vanguard Renewables, while it will collaborate with Shell on potential green and blue hydrogen production.
L’Oréal USA Achieves Carbon Neutrality Across All US Sites
L’Oréal USA—the largest subsidiary of the L’Oréal Groupe, has reached carbon neutrality for scopes 1 and 2 emissions for all 25 US sites, across 12 states, including its manufacturing and distribution facilities, administrative sites, and research and innovation sites.
Since 2005, L’Oréal USA has been advancing its renewable energy ambition through a multi-pronged approach aimed at improving energy efficiency and transitioning to 100% renewable energy.
Several South Dakota Farms Chosen as Future RNG Dairy Digester Project Sites
MBL Bioenergy has entered into definitive agreements to develop several clusters of dairy farm digester projects to produce renewable natural gas (RNG) from multiple farms in South Dakota.
The clusters of projects are expected to produce 650 million cubic feet of RNG annually when complete and on-line by the end of calendar year 2024. The RNG will be delivered to the local natural gas pipelines serving the regional distribution system. In totality, the projects will represent more than $100 million investment in RNG by MBL Bioenergy, with funding by UGIES on a per project basis. UGIES, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, GHI Energy, will be the exclusive marketer for MBL Bioenergy.

The Landfill Group, LS Power Announce South Carolina RNG Project
The Landfill Group and LS Power announced September 9 that Enerdyne Power Systems, a Landfill Group company based in Charlotte, North Carolina, has begun construction on a state-of-the-art renewable natural gas (RNG) project at the Twin Chimneys Landfill site in Honea Path, South Carolina. The Twin Chimneys Power Producers project is expected to achieve commercial operations by the fourth quarter in 2022.
Landfill gas, a natural byproduct of the decomposition process of waste, will be collected at the Twin Chimneys Landfill and converted into RNG. The processed landfill gas will then be injected into the local natural gas system owned and operated by the Greenwood Commissioners of Public Works.
Chevron in JV to Acquire US Retail CNG Network
US major Chevron said September 9 it had formed a joint venture with Mercuria Energy Trading to acquire and operate American Natural Gas (ANG) and its network of 60 compressed natural gas (CNG) stations across the US.
Chevron is building a large-scale, vertically-integrated renewable natural gas (RNG) business in the US, and through recent partnerships with Brightmark and California Bioenergy is developing projects to produce RNG from dairy digesters across the country.
