Convertus Finalizes Permits for Ontario AD Facility
Canadian organics diversion and processing firm Convertus Group reportedly has received all necessary approvals and permits to start building its new anaerobic digestion (AD) and biofuels facility in the York Region of Ontario.
The company, which has operations in Canada and the United States, says the series of approvals marks a major step forward for "one of Canada’s most exciting green energy projects."

Montauk, Biogas Tech Startup Partner for Flared Gas Methanol JV
Emvolon, an MIT spin-off that converts greenhouse gas emissions into carbon-negative fuels and chemicals, and Montauk Renewables, Inc. (NASDAQ:MNTK), a renewable energy company specializing in the management, recovery and conversion of biogas, today announced a joint venture to develop multiple biogas-to-green methanol projects. Following a successful field demonstration project, Emvolon and Montauk plan to deploy a portfolio of biogas-based sites with an aggregate annual production capacity of up to 50,000 metric tons of green methanol by 2030 and beginning with the Atascocita Humble Renewable Energy (HRE) facility in Humble, Texas.

Norway Scientists Use Microbes to Make Biomethane from CO2 with 96% Purity
Scientists at the Norwegian Institute of BIOeconomy Research (NIBIO) have turned to biofilms to turn carbon-based gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2) and carbon monoxide (CO) into biomethane, a green and sustainable alternative to natural gas.
These biofilm-based processes can produce biomethane with 96 percent purity, an organizational press release said.
