EnviTec Advances Construction of Swedish Biogas and Bio-LNG Facility

EnviTec Biogas AG is continuing construction in Vara, in the Swedish province of Västergötland, of a manure and slurry digestion plant fitted with a gas upgrading unit. The owner and operator is Biogas Västra Skaraborg AB (BVS), a Swedish limited company whose shareholders are local farmers and entrepreneurs, who supply the feedstock themselves. The project comes as the biomethane market is debating public support, notably in the United Kingdom, and as European gas prices remain under pressure. The biomethane produced is to feed a liquefaction unit, in order to make bio-LNG (liquefied natural gas of renewable origin) for heavy road transport, shipping and industry.
