Hapag-Lloyd and Kuehne+Nagel take their first joint step towards sustainable ocean shipping

Hapag-Lloyd and Kuehne+Nagel are strengthening their long-standing partnership with their first collaboration on emission-reduced ocean transport, leveraging Hapag-Lloyd’s “Ship Green” product and certified waste- and residue-based Sustainable Marine Fuels (SMF). The 2026 pilot covers roughly 3,300 TEU of cargo on the East Asia to North Europe trade lane and is expected to avoid approximately 2,979 tonnes of CO₂e emissions, advancing both companies’ net-zero ambitions through a credible, book-and-claim approach.
