Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Now One of Four Carbon-Neutral Airports in North America
Austin-Bergstrom International has achieved carbon neutrality, and it’s the first “medium-size airport” to do so, according to a press release.
The airport said it has implemented projects to reduce carbon dioxide. Some of these projects include a partnership with Austin Energy to power the airport using renewable solar energy and another partnership with Signature Flight Support for sustainable aviation fuel. The airport also uses renewable natural gas to power buses and helps to provide airlines with electric ground service equipment.
