Energy Commission Approves $5M for Tulare Digester

The California Energy Commission will award a $5 million grant to Colony Energy Partners Tulare, LLC to help build a digester that will produce biogas using cow manure and food processing waste. 

The anaerobic digester, in planning since 2012, is nearly three times larger than any other biogas project funded by the Energy Commission, which is providing the grant from its Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program.

Construction began last year on the estimated $25 million "Endeavor Facility," at the corner of Paige Avenue and Road 36 east of Tulare. It will produce around 2.8 million diesel gallon equivalents of biogas each year when complete.
