WEBINAR: U.S. EPA Landfill Methane Outreach Program

Description: The University of California (UC) set a goal to emit net zero greenhouse gases from its buildings and vehicle fleet by 2025, with a plan to achieve 40% of its natural gas from renewable sources by then. Learn how UC is working with landfills around the country to make this happen.

Speakers: Sam Schabacker, Renewable Energy Analyst, University of California Sam leads biogas origination for UC. UC has both developed a landfill gas (LFG) processing plant and procured biogas via long-term offtake contracts as part of its ambitious goal to be carbon neutral by 2025. Sam will discuss both models and how biogas fits into UC’s comprehensive carbon neutrality strategy.

Nicholas Stork, CEO, Archaea Energy, LLC Archaea is currently developing eight renewable natural gas (RNG) projects across the United States. Nicholas is also the co-founder and CFO of Noble Environmental Inc., which owns and operates two landfills in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area. Noble self-developed an LFG-to-RNG plant, which became the model for Archaea's development.
