LMOP Webinar: Using Landfill Gas as Vehicle Fuel

LMOP's Webinar: Thursday, November 13 (1:00-2:00pm Eastern)

The use of landfill gas as a vehicle fuel is becoming more common as organizations seek to cut their greenhouse gas emissions and take advantage of the availability and sale of renewable energy. In July 2014, the EPA finalized the Renewable Fuel Pathways II Final Rule to identify additional fuel pathways under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) Program. Important considerations of LFG as vehicle fuel projects include understanding recent changes to the RFS Program, anticipating the barriers and challenges that can be encountered during project development, and recognizing the energy, environmental and community benefits of such projects.

Mr. David Babson, AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow, with EPA’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality (OTAQ), will provide an overview of the recent RFS Pathways II Final Rule. Participants will also hear from Mr. Chris Voell, Landfill Energy Systems, who offers extensive experience in landfill system project development including biogas to compressed natural gas. Mr. Katry Martin of the St. Landry Parish Solid Waste Disposal District in Louisiana will present a case study of a project that utilizes LFG to fuel utility and law enforcement vehicles.

Registration for the webinar is required. To register, please visit: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/4190393107109391105
